Experience

Mr. Gotham has over 20 years bankruptcy law experience and has personally handled hundreds of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases. He is certified by the American Board of Certification in the fields of Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law.  To be certified, Mr. Gotham satisfied the following requirements: full time practice of law for at least five years; good standing in the bars of all states where a license to practice law is held; devoted at least 30% of practice time and at least 400 hours to bankruptcy-related matters in the last three years; documented involvement in business and consumer bankruptcy by providing information on cases practiced; demonstrated commitment to continuing legal education by earning at least 60 hours of bankruptcy education in the past three years; passed an extensive, day-long written examination covering business and consumer bankruptcy issues.

He regularly negotiates bankruptcy agreements for both businesses and individuals; and represents both debtors and creditors in a full array of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proceedings. Mr. Gotham also frequently appears in state and federal court in bankruptcy-related and other litigation. Additionally, Mr. Gotham represents businesses in general corporate matters.
